I design, illustrate, create graphics and construct web sites. ZephyrStudioAustin.com is my design.
As business section designer of the Austin American-Statesman, I design six of the seven newspaper's business sections published during the week. To produce the newspaper, we use a proprietary pagination program from Digital Technology that incorporates InDesign for designers; InCopy for reporters and editors; along with databases for stories and images; and advertising, production and press run functions.
I use PhotoShop to create photo illustrations for the section and create other special treatments. Sometimes I use Illustrator alter text or gaphics.
Prior to designing, I was a graphic artist and graphics editor for this newspaper and earlier at another in Arizona. In those roles I used FreeHand for graphics, DeltaGraph for graphing, and Quark Xpress for pagination.
I also draw and paint using traditional media.
I use Dreamweaver for web site construction.
